Methodology
This page explains how we collect, label and update information on dogtraining.sg. Our goal is to help owners make informed choices — not to rank trainers with opaque scores.
Trainer directory data
AVS-ACDT listings are imported from the official AVS ACDT page. We store source snapshots with import timestamps rather than scraping AVS on every page view. Source publication date on file: 2026-07-14. Always verify current accreditation on the official list before booking.
Professional certifications (for example IAABC-ADT, CPDT-KA) are parsed from AVS source fields and trainer-supplied claims. We label accreditation and certification separately so owners can see both signals clearly. See dog trainer certifications explained.
Claimed listings
Trainers and business owners can claim profiles to add services, coverage areas, pricing notes and short bios. We verify identity and relationship to the listing before publishing changes. Claimed content is labelled as trainer-supplied where applicable.
Reviews
Reviews are moderated before publication. We do not fabricate reviews or aggregate star ratings from unverified sources. Trainers cannot pay to remove legitimate negative feedback, though we remove content that violates our terms or cannot be substantiated.
Editorial guides
Guides are written for Singapore-specific context. They explain concepts, offer practical questions to ask trainers, and link to relevant services — they are not substitutes for professional assessment of an individual dog. See our editorial policy.
Training methods labelling
We do not assume every trainer uses positive reinforcement. When a trainer explicitly states their approach and we can verify it, we may label it on their profile. Otherwise we encourage owners to ask directly. Read positive reinforcement explained.
Pricing
We do not publish invented average price tables. When trainers supply dated pricing, we may display it on their profile. Our cost guide explains factors that affect quotes and reminds owners to confirm fees directly.
Corrections
If you spot outdated accreditation, wrong contact details or misleading content, please contact us with specifics. We prioritise factual corrections about credentials and safety-related claims.
